Here some screenshots of human male priest's staffs and robes. The items are sold by an NPC in Velika in exchange for high level tokens obtained from quests rewards. Character is Tatewari, king of ice!
This week I played the NA beta so I could test Tera more and with a class I won't play in the actual game: the warrior. Warrior is a tank/dps and I tried out how it performs in pve and in pvp. As tank its very fun to play but also bit frustrating because is much harder then lancer and less effective overall, at least in the 1-32 range.
I had a lot of fun this beta too but the things that bugged me since start are still there. One thing that got me bit mad was that spells and glyphs are so unclear sometimes. For example warrior's Battle Cry states: "it may stun"...what's up with that?:P "may"? Give me a percentage or just make it stun or not stun..."may" just feels weird...
PvP is very frustrating, and yes I'm not good or anything yet, but I can clearly see that some classes can't beat others if both players are on same level and that's depressing.
It's just very very weird that such an amazing game has such poor attentions for gameplay/combat details and that's, what I think, will be the reason why Tera won't be a big hit :(
Priest in Tera is quite different then a normal healer class of other mmorpgs, I don't recommend it unless you really like to heal. First of all, priest damage is very low compared to any other class except for mystic, and unlike other games where you can build your healer to do decent damage in Tera you really can't play it as a dps class.
First levels as a priest are very easy, you can easily make big pulls of mobs and aoe them down, in fact priest has a lot of aoe spells in the early levels but all of them are almost melee range and that's what i don't like of this class, most of your damage abilities require you to go melee range of mobs/players leaving you exposed.
Priest is squishy and wears cloth armors, so be ready to get tons of damage if an elite mob or a player hits you, but to balance that you get very powerful heals.
Healing in Tera is harder then in other games, where you target from the party list the person to heal and then press the heal you want to use. Most of the healing spells in Tera needs you to target the person you want to heal or the area you want to trow your healing over time spells and that requires you to move around to find the targets to heal and get closer to bosses or players and exposing yourself. I really enjoyed healing in instance, was fun and, unlike other games where the healer can stand still and spam the buttons, not easy.
Personally I had bit of troubles healing a low hp target while other players where around him and got damage from bosses while trying to do so (was first time i played!).
If you want an idea of how it is to heal as a priest watch this:
Priest is a good class and a powerful healer but lacks some fun elements Mystic (another healer/supporter class) has. The pve content up to level 22 could be done with a mystic healing the party instead of a priest without any problems.
Priest cons (up to level 22):
- Squishy - Low damage - Most spells are melee range - Not necessary for a successful group - Not good in solo pvp -
Priest pros (up to level 22):
-Best healing spells - A lot of aoe early game - Easy to find party for instance or elite mobs - Great in group pvp.
